Business Tip: Always start your business on a shoe string budget.  You will make better decisions and use a lot more diligence in all you do for your new start-up.  My husband and I always believed that you should make money from day one, if your losing money each month you need to reevaluate your business.  All of our companies were successful, some BIG some small, but we learned from each and every one.... and our children learned too.

Networking Tip: Find a good fit, find a "power partner" (a friend told me that, and he's right). Get out there and move outside your comfort zone.  Practice your public speaking on your family and friends.  And watch out for those "ummms" and "ahs" in your elevator pitch, you only have so much time! don't spend it on "ummms" and "ahs". And be consistent with your networking attendance, it shows your organizational skills and your reliability.  Take on leadership rolls in everything you do so people can get to know YOU and your work ethics and skills.  Oh, and have some fun, meet some new friends and lets not forget to give thanks to the Lord!  We truly are Blessed!!
